I attended a seminar for English teachers today organized by IIEEC Oxford University Press. We learned MAT method.
Some of the presenters were authors of children's English textbooks!! It felt like watching stars in real life!
Their presentation skills were fantastic and they were very passionate.
One of the many things they suggested is to get students to say new vocab 16 times with gestures. One of them showed us how to do it - apparently it works. I'll have see how kids cope with it!
オックスフォード大学出版主催の児童英語教師のための研修を受講してきました。
プレゼンターたちが何人かいたのですが、そのうち２組はなんと実際に教科書を作った方たちでした！
みなさん情熱が伝わってくるパワフルなプレゼンで素晴らしかったです。
今日の内容の一部。
①新しい単語は１６回言ってもらうと覚える
②マイクを使うと子供が発言しやすい（１００円ショップで買ってきまーす）
③ジェスチャーをつける。
などなど。いわいるMATメソッドです。
日本人の成人の人口の９割は英語のレベルが中学生レベルに満たないとも言っていました。どこの統計から引っ張ってきたのか聞き漏らしました。残念です。
楽しそうな絵本も沢山目星を付けてきましたよ～。山ほど買いたい気持ちを押さえて押さえて・・・・。教えたいことが沢山ありすぎます。
